Join the Department of Gender Studies for Up She Rises!, a public discussion about women and gender in NL history. Inspired by the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage in NL, the three-day symposium will gather academics, researchers, activists, writers, and poets who have studied and written about women and gender in NL history.

We’ll discuss the suffrage movement; gender and home production; women, spirituality, and community; politics and leadership; historical life-narratives; education and gender; women’s and family health and welfare; gender and community history; second-wave feminism; and more.

Except for dinner on Saturday night, all events are FREE!
