Memorial University’s Johnson Geo Centre is excited to invite you  to explore the Upper Island Cove fossil surface! Research has been ongoing at this site for the last 20 years. The fossil tour will be led by our interpreter, Dr. Rod Taylor, known fondly as @FossilRod. With his vast knowledge of Ediacaran fossils in our province, and his engaging approach to sharing that knowledge, we know you’ll have an experience you won’t soon forget! Please note: registration is required to attend this event.

Meet Location: General location near fossil sitewill be emailed out

Departure time: 11:00am

=Duration 2 hours

Tour Cost: $45+tax

 

Please dress for the weather. The fossil surface is a rock surface at the edge of the ocean. It is uneven and can be slippery. Please wear appropriate footwear (hiking boots, sneakers, etc.) Unfortunately, this natural area is not accessible for those with mobility impairments.
