Last week, the Danger Tree replica — created by Memorial University’s Department of Technical Services in partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada — was carefully packed and officially handed over to the Canadian Armed Forces for transportation across the Atlantic to its permanent home at the Beaumont Hamel Newfoundland Memorial in France.

The replica will be unveiled on June 30, ahead of the 110th anniversary commemorations of the Battle of Beaumont-Hamel on July 1.

A powerful symbol of remembrance, the replica honours the sacrifice and legacy of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment and all those connected to Beaumont Hamel.

La semaine dernière, la réplique de l’arbre du danger — créée par le Département des services techniques de l’Université Memorial en partenariat avec Anciens Combattants Canada — a été soigneusement emballée et officiellement remise aux Forces armées canadiennes pour être transportée de l’autre côté de l’Atlantique jusqu’à son emplacement permanent au Mémorial terre-neuvien à Beaumont-Hamel, en France.
