As St. John’s prepares for the third severe winter weather system this week, Memorial is developing contingency plans for a potential delayed opening on Friday, Dec. 16.
Memorial prioritizes the safety of the campus community and will make a decision on whether or not to delay opening based on numerous factors including weather conditions, road conditions, bussing and conditions on campus. Information will be shared by 7 a.m.
Contingency plans
The Registrar’s Office at both the St. John’s and Marine Institute campuses are developing plans for any exams that may need to be rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions. On the St. John’s campus, it is likely that exams impacted on Friday will be moved to Saturday. On the Marine Institute campus, it is likely that exams impacted on Friday will be rescheduled for later in the day on Friday or on Saturday.
Information will be shared as soon as it is available.
If you have further questions about the impact of the storm closures on exams, please consult this FAQ: http://www.mun.ca/main/Dec13FAQ.php.
Residence check out extended
If the exam schedule extends into Saturday, the residence check-out date would move accordingly and students would not be required to check-out on Saturday, Dec. 17. Residence meal plan service would also be extended at the Main Dining Hall.
