Memorial University recognizes that the remnants of Hurricane Matthew are having a significant impact on the island of Newfoundland.
Given the current road conditions and the risk to safety this presents for students who may be travelling to Memorial’s campuses, the Senate Committee on Undergraduate Studies has recommended that self-reported travel difficulties on Wednesday, Oct. 12, be an acceptable reason for academic units and instructors to extend academic leniency and flexibility.
This recommendation includes, but is not limited to, attendance in classes/laboratories, re-scheduling examinations and the deadlines for submission of assignments for any student who may be impacted by travel restrictions.
