Lisa Russell has been named president (elect) for the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).
Ms. Russell is manager of experiential learning with Student Life at Memorial.
Career education expertise
CACEE is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career services professionals. Their mission is to provide professional networking and development opportunities, information, advice and other services to employers and career service professionals.
“This appointment is a significant recognition of Lisa’s experience and expertise in the area of career education,” said Dr. Jennifer Massey, director, Student Life. “Recognition from peers across Canada and from a national organization like CACEE is a notable accomplishment. I know the staff in Student Life are very proud of Lisa. Her work in career education impacts the lives of Memorial University students every day. Now, more than ever, her vision, passion and expertise will shape the trajectory of career education across Canada.”
Longstanding contributor
Ms. Russell has more than 15 years of experience in career development. She completed her bachelor of arts (joint honours) in political science and history from Memorial and a master of arts in political science at Dalhousie University. She has been a longstanding CACEE member, and has presented at multiple CACEE conferences, including Atlantic regional events, and also co-chaired the marketing committee for the 2014 conference.

Ms. Russell says she is honoured to take on this new role, and that CACEE’s work is of increasing value in today’s education and business sectors.
