COVID-19 update: Dec 17

Important update on remote working

Campus and Community

Memorial employees at all campuses who are able to work remotely are encouraged to do so prior to the holiday break. Employees who prefer to work on campus can do so, but are asked to limit in-person meetings and gatherings.

This is an opportunity to reduce contacts with individuals at a time that generally comes with increased socializing, gatherings and singing. Employees should be aware that this is likely temporary, and we are planning to be back working in person in the New Year.

Exams and industry training scheduled for Monday at the Marine Institute will be going ahead as scheduled.

Our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of the entire Memorial community, and we must all continue to remain vigilant and do our part to keep cases low. Please be mindful of health and safety protocols over the holiday season, particularly at gatherings and as you celebrate with family and friends.

University officials are continuing to monitor the impact of the Omicron variant, the number of cases in the province and public health directives. No decision has yet been made about the winter 2022 semester. More information will be shared as it becomes available. Have a safe and happy holiday!
