What’s so awesome about Shea Heights?

'Plenty,' says community alliance members featured in new video

By Rebecca Cohoe

In a world that can sometimes feel disconnected, the neighbourhood of Shea Heights retains a real sense of community.

According to the Shea Heights Community Alliance, that community feeling is a huge asset in their work to promote mental health and wellness among local youth. How? Have a look and see for yourself!

The Shea Heights Community Alliance is made up of the Shea Heights Community Centre Board, the St. John Bosco School and medical professionals from Eastern Health and Memorial University.

This winter, the group won the inaugural President’s Award for Public Engagement Partnerships, in recognition of their collaboration. As part of their prize, Memorial’s Office of Public Engagement and DELTS worked with the partnership to create the above video about their work.
